Spotlight: An Encore! Musical
Spotlight: An Encore! Musical was the third and final collaboration between Los Metates Studios and the Albuquerque theatre group Encore! Theatre. Spotlight was a new jukebox musical featuring a story written and directed by Matthew Evans and featuring some of the biggest showstopping numbers ever from both stage and screen. It told the story of a frazzled but optimistic director who must save his show at the final dress rehearsal from a cocky filmmaker and her team. Spotlight ran from August 11-13 at Sandia Preparatory School’s McCall Performing Arts Center and received highly enthusiastic responses from audiences, with people praising the choreography, music, and comedy of the story.
